Building Trades

Building Trades

The Vermont countryside is iconically beautiful.  Much of that beauty is enhanced by the work of the Vermont craftsman.  There was a time where a home could be built on nothing more than a handshake.  Those in the trades, however, know that gone are the days where a man’s word was his bond. Negotiating the landscape of the home building and renovation industry requires a clear understanding of local and state codes and regulations, as well as warranties and collections.  Most local lawyers have never picked up a hammer, and the only people they know in the building trades are their clients.  By contacting me, you will engage with an attorney who understands what it means to spend a day in your shoes.

I worked my way through law school at various construction job sites, and my brother operates a successful Vermont home building and renovation company. I have drafted building and renovation contracts, and contractor and subcontractor agreements with the needs of the builder in mind. I have advised clients on collection matters, as well as on how to limit their warranty liabilities. In short, I will represent you and your business from the building lot to the courthouse without having to be brought up to speed on your industry.
